For this week's project, we were assigned to create a short story film based on a single word. Everyone was assigned a word and had to create a video using Adobe Express or Adobe Premiere. We used Adobe Express to tell a story. My partner and I word was pessimistic. Now, this word was a difficult one to figure out because we both knew what the word might mean, but not how to visualize it. So we both created an idea of a girl going to a dance audition and her being in her head the entire time, believing she will fail.
Creating this story, we needed to list our thoughts down. So when we made our brainstorming sheet, we mostly used shots that we thought would best fit the story. Including medium shots and close-ups. My partner and I wrote about how we wanted to express our story in a negative tone and use different types of cuts to get each angle. Our storyboard was extremely useful to our film. We started off writing some ideas we had, and later on, it all just fell together. The sketches on the storyboard helped us imagine what our story was going to look like. Creating a blueprint for the project.
I believe my partner and I did a good job in the story's message. As in trying to bring the word to life. The way we edited the clips was when she was in her head. We put a black and white tone to produce a gloomy tone. However, I happen to also believe that we could've done a better job at the angles we didn't use much of. Such as over-the-shoulder shots and high and low angles.
